Park Teams Win at Erindale T-Ball Tournament
2008: The annual Erindale T-Ball Tune-Up Tournament was held
July 12th and 13th at Springfield Park in Mississauga. Once again
the tournament was well organized and great fun for all who participated.
Thanks to all the volunteers who make Erindale tournament a success!
The High Park
T-Ball All-Stars were undefeated throughout the tournament and rolled
to an impressive third consecutive championship. Congratulations
to the team and their coaches, and good luck at the T-Ball World
Championship in Ancaster, August first to fourth.
The Select team
had a much rockier road to success. In fact they lost their first
three games in the tournament. However, on Sunday morning, facing
elimination from the tournament, the Selects finally pulled it together
and squeaked into the AA division semifinals by defeating Ancaster.
In the semifinal
game, the boys faced Stoney Creek, a team that defeated them in
a close game on Saturday morning. Given a second chance, the Selects
prevailed in another close contest to advance to the AA final.
With only a
short break, the Selects had to play their fourth game of the day
against a strong team from Dundas who had defeated them earlier
that day. But it was a more confident and experienced team that
played in the final, and they won a convincing victory to take home
the AA Championship trophies.
