Mariners win 2006 Championship

High Park T-ball teams showcased their skills and enthusiasm in the 2006 playoffs. All the players have learned a great deal and improved tremendously in just five months. We saw diving catches, accurate throws, line drives, home runs, double plays, and great teamwork. Congratulations to all the players and teams for another great season of T-Ball in High Park!

2006 Banquet

The annual High Park T-Ball Awards Banquet was held on Sunday, October 1st at the Oasis Banquet Hall. More than 300 participants celebrated the success of the 2006 season. After a tasty meal,every player and coach received a trophy in recognition of their contributions. Thanks to everyone who made this another great season!

High Park All-Stars Win Third Tournament of 2006!

The High Park T-Ball All-Stars completed a season sweep by winning the Silver-Tee T-Ball Tournament hosted by the LaSalle Turtle Club in Windsor, Ontario. Congratulations, Braves, on a fabulous season! Thanks also to the tournament organizers who put on a great event on the weekend of August 11-13.

High Park All-Stars Win 2006 World T-Ball Championship!

Congratulations to the winners of the 2006 World Invitational T-Ball Tournament, the High Park T-Ball All-Stars! The Braves have now won this championship ten times in the last fifteen years!

This was the 37th edition of the tournament which is held annually in Ancaster, Ontario. This year dozens of teams participated in the four day event on the Civic Holiday weekend. High Park extends a hearty thank you to the tournament organizers and volunteers who made it a great success once again!

The High Park Selects also played exceptionally well during the weekend tournament. On Monday they played in the AAA division championship game, losing by just two runs to the Erindale All-Stars.

Each team played 7 games at the tournament; the All-Stars lost only one game all weekend, and completed their performance with an impressive 24-12 win over Windsor Central in the championship game. The Selects lost only one game on their way to the AAA final, finishing with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses.

Congratulations to all the Braves, who demonstrated once again the strength of the T-Ball program in High Park. Thank you to all the coaches who put in long hours of practice with our young ball-players to prepare for them for the competition. And thanks to all the parents who have supported the teams throughout the season.

High Park Teams Shine at Erindale T-Ball Tournament!

Three High Park teams participated in the fifth annual 2006 Erindale T-Ball Tune-Up Tourney, July 21st to 23rd. Despite the uncooperative weather, which dampened the fields and the players on Saturday and Sunday, the tournament was once again a great success. Thanks to all the volunteers at Erindale for their hard work in hosting this fun event.

The High Park All-Stars faced stiff competition in the Major division, but went undefeated throughout the weekend to become the tournament champions. They defeated the defending champions, LaSalle Turtle Club, by one run in the final on Sunday afternoon.

The High Park Selects dominated their competition and emerged as Minor division champions on Sunday. Congratulations to both teams, and good luck at the World T-Ball Championship in Ancaster! The All-Stars will also travel to Windsor for the Turtle Club Silver Tee tournament.





The Erindale Tournament also saw the debut of the High Park T-Ball girls' team, the High Park Gems. The girls did not win a game in their first appearance, but they improved with every outing. On Saturday afternoon, trailing the Forest Hill Cardinals by 5 runs after three innings, the Gems held the Cardinals to 3 runs in the top of the 4th, then rallied for 7 in the bottom of the inning to come within 1 run of tying the game.

On Sunday morning the Gems played their best game of weekend against the High Park Selects. Following the game, the Selects emerged from their dugout with a rose for each of the players and coaches on the Girls' team, to welcome them as representatives of High Park T-Ball in tournament play.

2006 All-Star Day
